The End of 2007
Time has gone so fast since Thanksgiving. Don and I got to go to Indiana for Stephen and Jennifer's wedding...which was amazing! Not only was the ceremony beautiful, and lots of family got to be there, but the snow was amazing too. Although if it would have waited to snow until the middle of the ceremony more of the family could have been together. A week is never long enough to see everyone (we missed seeing Marcus, Jackie, and Zach, and Kris and Christina). I didn't take pictures when we were in Indiana which makes me made...but I do have some pictures to share on how Don got ready for the wedding. (I'll try to post those tonight!)
After we got back from "the wedding"...I called CosmoProf (a retail store that sales to salons and licensed people) about my job. I started working on December 10th and let's just say I totally love being an at home wife (just wish I had kids to be with)...so getting back into the swing of things sucked! Don and I have one car...and Evie has a car so we are always trying to figure out who drops who off and picks up. Right now I'm hourly so it's okay...but once my store opens and I move to Management I'm not sure what is going to happen. But we shall see...but for the most part I like my job. I love working with the products and selling them...which isn't that hard for some of it...since I have used many of the product lines we sell.
Christmas came and went so fast...I wasn't ready to celebrate Christmas until the Wednesday before...so lots of last minute shopping was happening for me this year. I hate being unprepared...so my goal this next year is to be done Christmas shopping by Dec. 15th. So I am hoping to meet that goal with pride!
Things are stressful...we are going to try again to get pregnant. So hopefully for Christmas we will have a little one to make Christmas special for! If we have to we will go see another specialist in March, but we are hoping that the meds that take me on a roll coaster ride won't be necessary!
Don is still loving his job. He did interview in Indiana while we were there, but he hasn't heard anything back. I know he loves his job but I would love to be closer to my family and friends. I'm not much of a social butterfly it would be nice to be able to see my closest and dearest people. But I know that I can't always have what I want...so I'll just keep my chin up and make him keep applying until I do! (HA HA)
Anyways...I have to go get ready for work...I"ll try to post more later...because we had lots happen in our small community lately!
As I was blogging earlier...I totally forgot about the excitement in our little apartment community. We have posted earlier we have a lake/pond behind our apartment building...well beyond that there are more apartments. On Dec. 14th in the building just across the lake was a double murder. A man went nuts and broke into the apartment of his almost ex-wife and her "partner"...shooting both women, but not hurting the 4 year old in that apartment. Then he shot and killed his 2 kids at his house that he had with the ex, and then went to the tallest bridge and shot himself. So--you never know that you are in a safe place!
Well there isn't more in my life right now. We had a good Christmas...it wasn't being "home" with family but it was still okay. The 4 missionaries came over so we had a good dinner. I am glad for a good husband that lets me do the traditions I want. Which makes it fun for me...he isn't much of a Holiday person (as long as he gets gifts he's okay)...but decorating and all that is me.
Tonight we are staying in and having a small little party...with the 3 of us and the sisters (until 10pm...they have to be home by 10pm) ... so we aren't doing much...just lots of food!
Have a great New Years...may it be fun and safe!

Church Hallween Party 2007
Yesterday was busy with trying to get all things ready for the hallween party. There was a chili and cornbread cook off which we entered (Placing 1st in Chili and 2nd in Cornbread). I also made some hallween brownies and took those (which went really fast). They also had a costume contest and below you can see how our stake president and his wife dressed up. Enjoy the pictures and have a wonderful weekend!

The Move...
I still don't have pictures of the new apartment to post and for that I'm sorry. Today is Thursday and this move is kicking my butt! Everyday I have been packing (or unpacking) boxes (and sometimes both), running up and down stairs to get things ready for the evening shift, and then in the evening we work for 2 hours running up and downstairs. Let me tell you how out of shape I am ( I know that round IS a shape).
My body is bruised and broken and I still have today and tomorrow before the big stuff even gets moved. Hopefull today we will get all the boxes done and then tomorrow it will be just the closets and small electronic to be moved. I think I'm going to unhook the computers today. We have called in help...since we all are just about at our breaking point and I'm afriad to that I'll get strep throat if I don't slow down soon. Don talked to one of our new neighbors and he will be helping us pack up the 3 cars (we are paying him by giving him our grill-which has only been used twice- and the bag and a half of charcoal). (Oh I forgot to tell you that we are borrowing a flower van from the funeral home to get more stuff moved in the evenings.) We also were able to talk the 2 sets of sister missionaries to help at some point this evening. I think they are coming in shifts...one set to pack up and the other to unpack. I think if I can get everyone organized it shouldn't take us too long. Most of the boxes for todays move are light (compared to the first night when we moved all the food storage which were boxes of can goods).
Saturday we have lined up some male missionaries and some men from the ward to help move the big things. We are paying them off with frozen pizzas and root beer floats. I was really lucky when planning what to fix for the moving party...frozen pizzas went on sale 3 for $10 and the buckets of ice cream went on a great sale too. So that sealed the deal for me. I'm using the plasic cups, silverwear, and plates from foodstorage (since the hurricane season is almost over I feel it's okay to use some of those and restock after the first of the year).
Well--Tigger is telling me it's time to start our day. I hope you all have a great weekend...have some fun for us because we aren't going to have any! Good luck to those losing weight...I'm hoping to kick some major butt this week!

The Calm Before the Storm...
Whatever calm it is...which isn't much calm is for the large storm just 2 weeks ahead. Yesterday I went to the beauty supply that I love to shop at (one that only sells to licensed people)...they are opening shops down here like gang fire. So last week I applied and when I was in the shop yesterday I talked with the manager about my application. I now have an interview next week (this is the job that I really, really want) for a managers position. I'm totally excited.
So I'm adding to my plate which is rather full. With another interview, packing, I'm doing a facial class with the young women of our ward, and plotting our move...I'm so dang stressed. The move is going to kill me until we really get started. I can't pack many more boxes because there is NO place for them to go. We are already making paths around the house so we still can move. When we take the keys on the 15th we are going to start moving stuff everyday. I have it figured out if we do that everyday Monday thru Friday and then Saturday all that will have to be moved is all the heavy things (couch, beds, dressers...stuff like that). I think we have set up enough help so that I don't have to figure out how I'm going to carry the couch down the stairs here and up the stairs at the new apartment with out making a trip to the ER. Now the movers just have to be called by my husband who has put it off all this week....even with me reminding him that it needs to be done.
So with my life on a time table for the next month or so I'm stressing out because I'm not seeing how it will be done before my trip to Indiana. I know the only thing I don't have to stress out about is the dogs. Evie isn't coming on the trip to Indiana so she will take care of the dogs...and for that I'm truly grateful. They have had their shots but I wasn't looking forward to looking for a boarding place for a week. Tigger is always hateful after being boarded.
I am sad that I have so much to get done in the next little while that I will miss Jeff and Ronna getting married. I talked to Ronna the other day...and she told me that they had just planned this and will be getting married November 3rd. I'm very excited for them, but I'm very selfishly sad for myself (not being able to be there).
But I loved hearing all her plans for her day. It sounds like it is coming together for them and I'm so happy for that!
Well that is all my news right now! Enjoy General Conference this weekend if you can! But if not have a great weekend anyways!

Just another week...
Man...I feel like this week has flown by. All week I feel like I have been chasing my tail and not getting far when doing it! I have had 2 job interviews...which I'm not too excited about. And another tomorrow. The job that I really want isn't calling people until Monday for interviews. So it's just a waiting game with them. I went to the doctor because as most of you know I don't sleep well or sometimes at all at night. So the doctor wants to try some drugs to reset my sleeping pattern. (I don't think it will work, but right now I'll try anything.)
I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting (just to see if I was going to try it) and I really think it is going to be great. So Samantha signed me up for my birthday (thanks for the early present)!!! I'm so excited about starting it. Since we have that family challenge going on and Stephen's wedding coming up I want to take a big step forward with the weight loss. I'm excited about moving...that should help with losing weight! They have a work out room that everyone can use so that will be good...that and getting a job so I'm not home all the time.
Right now I'm packing up our life...not quickly as I would like. Just a few more weeks and we will have to start moving things out of our apartment and I don't want to be packing the night before like I am on most of my moves!
Don is doing great on his weight loss...in 2 weeks he has gone down 13 pounds. He is excited about that!
Well that is all our news right now. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Exciting times at our house!
Saturday I was replanting some of my herbs...then the phone rings. Of course (you know me) I have to answer the dang thing. Just to be asked to make something for another church member. But while I was away from my pots...some of the dirt fell into my kitchen sink...while I thought I would clean it up and when I went to scoop it up...it HOPPED to the other side of the sink. While if you know me...I'm not too good with nasty frogs or anything really yukkie from the outside. So I had to go wake up my sister-in-law (Evie) to get it out (That one as only the size of a fifty cent piece). As I was placing the pots out on my porch I notice there are dime size frogs in all 3 pots...yes Miracle Grow gave me 6 small frogs in my dirt. Nice huh? I had to call Don at work to tell him and he just laughed. I went back out to take pictures of them but couldn't find any...I think they dug down into the dirt.
Then yesterday I get a call around 3pm from Don. He had to work and he normally doesn't call. It turns out he got poked at work. Okay that doesn't sound real good but that is what happened. After embalming a woman he went to do some work on her lips...the needle bounced off her lips and into his thumb cuticle. It was deep enough to get a small amount of blood out of so he had to file a report. His boss sent him to the clinic but it was closed so he went to the ER for a work up. He not only need a drug test, but they had to get blood from him and had to poke him 4 times for blood (which left nice bruises). He is being tested for all the nasty things one can come into contact with in his line of work. They have him on a ton of meds and he will have to be tested once a month for the next 6 months for AIDS and all that crap! So it was good that he had 2 days off in a row. His meds are playing with his body so hopefully by the time he has to go back to work he will be okay.
Right now I'm trying to pack things up so when we move next month everything will be done. My only problem is once I pack a box...is where to put it. There isn't much free space to place boxes. So I'm going kind of slow right now. I'm also getting ready to do a makeover night with some of the girls at the church. It's one of their activities they have planned and asked if I would help. So with the help of my friend, Kelly, I have products to use on them. I'm also making up some info for them to have from my school stuff. I figured I have paid alot for my education I could share a little of it. I hope it's goes well...I have that right before the big move. SO that will be fun planning that and getting everything packed up.
I don't think I got the job at Candlewood, but I have applied for some more jobs. Hopefully I'll hear something soon!
Well--You guys have a good week and I'll update when I know more about Don's sickness!

Just Updating you on my boring life!
Today I had a job interview. Nothing big, but it was an interview! After being told I was under qualified to be an instructor at a Cosmo school I have been bummed. But this interview was for a front desk job at Candlewood Suites. It's not the number one job I'm looking for, but it will be an income! I should know in the next couple days if I at least get a 2nd interview.
Other then that...just getting ready for our move. I think I taken down all the pictures in the house and dusted them and boxed them up. I'm excited for this move! We all will have a little more room to spread out! I know that Evie will enjoy having a space ALL to herself and not sharing it will my cosmo stuff and the food storage! (Sorry about that Evie!)
Don and I got our tickets for the trip to Indiana. That excites me to no end! To know that I am REALLY getting to go to the wedding and it's not just a pipe dream! But all that means right now it in 4 weeks it will be the race of all times to get things moved into our new apartment unpacked and get my things out of the storage unit (that is where all my Christmas stuff is) and get the Christmas tree up and ready before I leave for Indiana. It's going to be really busy but that will make the time fly fast (I hope). I'm so excited to see everyone again. I already feels like forever ago since I have been to Indiana.
Well--not a lot more to add. I'll let you know about the job. Have a great weekend!

Picking up the Pace...
Well as most of you know we have the family weight loss program starting up...and both Don and I are signed up. We shall see how that goes.
But we have found a new apartment to move into as our lease here ends. With 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and 3 adults we are always on top of each other. We are hoping that with a slightly bigger apartment we can spread out a little. Our square footage will be going up almost 400 sq. feet. I'm totally excited about that! We are moving mid-October up the road to a nice 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. I'm getting the change of address cards made up (just waiting on the right apartment number). But totally looking forward to getting out of this complex because some of our new neighbors are kind of scary! I believe there are drug dealers that just moved in to the same "building" as we live. But some of the neighbors that we liked just moved into this new complex so we are excited to know some good people there.
So life is going to start getting busy. I have gotten my state license here so I have started to apply at school and such. With getting the moving planned and done, and planning another trip to Indiana for Stephen and Jennifer's wedding...I shall be busy. I can't wait because with the move it should make the time fly.
Nothing big and wonderful is going on right now in my life but I thought I would update you on what I did find out about moving. I'll go by the new apartment complex this weekend and take some pictures. Have a great weekend and I'll post again soon!

Baby Jakob
Thanks Heather for the pictures! He is such a gem. Jobe loves his baby brother...and thinks Jakob's a keeper. I'm so sad that I'm so far away. Maybe I just need to have one of my own. Enjoy his pictures!
Another Ronna Update...
Shari emailed me so I'm just cutting and pasting her email. Heather has promised pictures--she was to go up to the hospital on her lunch break so I'm waiting on her to call me or email me. I did talk to my mom who says the baby is doing very well...and she got to hold him today. But it does really look like Jakob will be going home with his mommy--which could be Saturday if all still looks good. He is breast feeding well! So I'll keep you updated.
Anyways--here is Shari's email from today:
Thanks so much for announcing Jakob's birth! He is breathing much better today and is starting to nurse. He should be going home with Ronna on Saturday. I will be making another flying trip to Indiana on the 13th. Her mom is due in tonight to help out. Jobe is very excited about his new baby brother. I can't wait to see them all again! I know that Claytan has grown a foot since I saw him.
The story that I got was that Ronna's water broke and then she went to the hospital. Jeff was at work and broke the sound barrier getting to the hospital. I'm glad that all are well and I can't wait to see them!
Well when I get more I'll post more. I did noticed today that when I was posting yesterday about Ronna's shower she was in labor...how fitting! Have a Great Weekend!

IT'S A BOY!
Ronna's my hero today! Poor thing has been through it all, but from what I hear she is doing well. Jakob Robert Grant decided that the world was too great to wait any longer to see. He is 6 weeks early, but from the sounds of it he doing well (they are watching his breathing). The only things I know about him are: 5lbs 11oz, 19 inches long...and born sometime before 3pm yesterday.
Here is some of the story that I remember- Yesterday morning Ronna started contractions. They took her to the hospital and the hospital was talking about trying to keep her there for a few weeks...but then her water broke and they had to re-plan. They then decided that giving her fluids and trying to keep Jakob in for a few days might do...but that plan quickly was ditched when they noticed that it was time to push (which happened quickly). They had to take her to an OR room because Jakob wanted to land on his feet first. Come to find out that her spinal block was not taking they had to put poor Ronna under. As of last night she was not feeling well from the anesthesia. But from what I have heard Ronna was given some good meds to help with her upset stomach and to help her rest. Jakob (from what Heather says) looks like his daddy, and Heather is to get us some pictures so we all can see how right she is.
Jobe has not seen his new brother yet, but that should happen today. I can't wait to hear what he has to say about going to school and when he came home he had a new baby brother. That could really scar a child...if they didn't want a new sibling.
Please keep Ronna and Jakob in your thought and prayers. And when I get new stuff on the happy family I'll post. Hopefully we will have pictures soon to share! Have a good weekend!

Ronna's Baby shower
I got myself invited to Ronna's baby shower. (Which I'm working on part of her gifts now.) It sounds like Jeff and Ronna might be set for this little guy! I'll keep you posted on news on that. They already know it's a boy so the only surprise would be if it was a girl. (But I do agree on finding out what it is before hand.) Enjoy her shower!
Kelly's PTO Mom's Get together
Kelly and a few of the PTO mom's that she got to know why she was PTO president still do lunch dates. This was right before school started so they had lunch and went swimming. The swimming didn't last long because it started to storm. But over all I think it was fun...and funny to hear the Mom's talk. Enjoy the pictures!
Fashion Show at Kelly's
One day at Kelly's Maggie had an idea to put Aleesha and Faith (a daughter of one of Kelly's friends) in a fashion Show. Aleesha and Faith had tons of fun changing clothes and showing off Maggie's creations. Poor Jack (the son of Kelly's friend) stayed downstairs with us so Kelly found him a PINK cowboy vest. I hope he is not scared from that! But the girls had a blast but again once we turned on a camera they really got into it! Enjoy!
Watching the Babies grow
The first weekend I was in Indiana mom took a "few" of the grandkids out to eat. It was nice seeing everyone and the babies. Heather and her children went, Ronna and Job, Stephanie and Taite with their girls, Marcus and Jackie and baby Zach, Kris and Christina with her sister, Stephen and Jennifer, and then there was Mom and myself. Just a small group of us getting together. I didn't get my camera out (I was too busy with the babies), but Stephen and Jennifer got a camera out so I'm excited to see what the "gang" looked like. (I did get to see and hold Maya. She is such a sweet baby. She was just happy if we talked to her. I did have to get Lenha to talk to me...but that took most of dinner. She is so very cute! Chandler, Jaelin, and Job don't need any warming up period and they are high energy! They got a table all to themselves at dinner. I think that was good for them.)
Right before I left Marcus and Jackie were nice enough to let us invite ourselves over to their home. They found such a lovely house! Mom paid for some pizza and we ate dinner with them...and it was nice to just sit and chat. Zach let me take his picture...matter of fact he was a major ham! So these pictures are at his home playing with a key chain I pulled out of my bag so he would stand at the coffee table for me. He is growing so very fast.

Maggie's Birthday party
HAPPY 11th BIRTHDAY MAGGIE!!!! Don was sad that he couldn't celebrate with Maggie, but I took tons of pictures for him! This was a family get together so her cousins came to eat cake and swim with her. The kids had a blast...even if it did rain for a while. Maggie made out with gifts! She even got some of the "High School Musical" crap. (If you know nothing about it...it's the hottest thing on Disney right now directed to the tweens and girls.) I hope Maggie enjoyed her birthday. I'm glad I got to be there to party with her.
Playing at the shop
While waiting on Kelly at the shop the girls entertained themselves! All I have to say is Maggie and Aleesha are too funny!
Jaelin's Birthday Party
On August 10th--Heather had a sleep over for Jaelin. I think there were 9 girls that stayed with Jaelin...so that is 10 - 7/8 yr olds. Let me tell you Heather had it planned out. However I did get myself talked into helping her...I went to polish the girls' nails and since I had Maggie she did their make-up. I stayed until 11 or 11:30pm and the girls were still up! But Heather planned some great things for them...we made pizzas (which mostly burnt), and then we did water balloon games, and then they opened gifts, and then ice cream waffle bowls, and then we went down stairs to do some musical pillows, and dancing. I did forget the great take home things that Heather got for the girls to do...they were foam albums that the girls decorated themselves and then we beaded...that is what my pictures are mostly of. But when I left I made sure that each girl were on her own sleeping bag laying down and they had popcorn watching Hannah Montana. Enjoy Jaelin's party!

Babysitting
Before school started in Indiana I got to spend a lot of time with Maggie and Aleesha. On this day we were hanging out at my mom's house and I straightened the girls hair...which Aleesha loved. Then she fell asleep and looked like Don King. Aleesha and Maggie love the camera so you will be seeing LOTS of them! Enjoy Aleesha's hair...I know I did!
Shopping Day
On this day Kelly was taking Hannah (her niece) and Maggie school shopping! We stopped at Olive Garden for lunch and I thought I would take some great pictures of my friends. I think we all had fun that day...or at least I did! Enjoy the pictures!
Playing Catch-up
I'm back! My travels were not long enough (sorry Don). I went to my cousin Zach's wedding at the end of July. Getting back Monday July 30th and flew to Indiana on July 31st. I returned home Thursday August 23rd. I will be updating with pictures...I will be doing short blogs so you won't get too bored with all the pictures. If truth be known I would love Don to find a funeral home job up in Indiana so I could be around my friends and family. All the babies are going up so fast it's horrid being so far away and only getting to see pictures. However I'll be going back to Indiana soon for my brother- Stephen's wedding. I'm all excited about that. So the next few months will be busy. We have to find a new apartment because I don't like living in the "hood" anymore! I'll keep you updated on all the happenings in our life! Enjoy the pictures I post over the next couple days!

Good News!
Evie Got a job!!
That is the good news of the day! She will be teaching at a charter school in Tampa (very close to Busch Gardens). She will be teaching 5th grade...which she has liked to teach in the pass. She will be going to meetings later this week and she will have some training to do...so that will nice for her to get back into the swing of things again!
As for me--I'm still waiting on my paper license...which sucks! I can't seem to get crap jobs...so I have decided that I need a break from the stress of taking care of Don. I'm going to Marco Island, Florida this next weekend for my cousin Zach's wedding. And I have a trip...of a secret nature. I'm not allowed to say at this time, but I'm excited that I get to go! By the time I get back I'm hoping that my license will be waiting and I can get a good job somewhere. I'll keep you posted on that!
Right now is the rainy season for us...and let me tell you it rains off and on everyday. But the worse thing is that Roo does not like storms so he goes NUTS because of the thunder. Hopefully it won't be too bad while I'm gone...because it looks like he will be locked in the kitchen and he likes to hide during storms. Tigger however has finally figured out that Roo gets a lot of attention when the storms are coming through so she has decided she is scared too. They love to cuddle under a blanket. Funny it has only taken her YEARS to figure out that he got more attention during storms.
Right now that is all I have to post. I hope all is well with everyone. Don and Evie have read the Harry Potter book...Don has started to re-read it. Other than that nothing else is going on.
Have a great week and I'll post again soon!

Harry Potter Watch
Don was so excited when I told him I got IMax tickets for the 12:01 am showing of Harry Potter. Don and Evie have been re-reading the books so get ready for the new movie and book. It was kind of cool to have a small part of it in 3-D. I hope you all got out and saw it like we did!
Well--it's late but Don wanted me to post right away that he got to see Harry Potter first thing...and in 3-D on IMax.
I hope to post again soon! Miss you all...have a great week!

Happy 4th of July
HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!!
I hope everyone will be enjoying great fireworks sometime today (but safely). We are not planning to go watch the fireworks this year. Instead we have decided to go to the movies (we are hoping that everyone else will be going towards the fireworks). We picked up a cheap grill as part of our hurricane kit (in case we can't use our stove), and we thought we would see how well Don and I put it together. So nothing great and wonderful, but it's better then sitting in the dark!
Enjoy your 4th and have a great weekend...be safe and we will update soon.

Pictures From Evie's Camera
These Pictures I uploaded from Evie's Camera. These are mostly Eternity and cats. As you will see...Eternity could pass as Don's child. She looks just like him minus the dimples! But she is a very sweet baby...enjoy and have a great week!

My Pictures of my trip
I want to share with you some pictures I took and one that I found. Eternity is Don's niece...and looks a lot like him...poor thing even has his temper and some of his facial expressions! I'm hoping to get more pictures of her from Evie's camera when we find it. But enjoy pictures...some of the pictures are of the house some what as I found it...but none are after we cleaned and packed...sorry I forgot to get those pictures. But I do have a disclaimer for Evie...she works and has been dealing with alot of things so cleaning wasn't her #1 thing...but Sandi just sat around making the mess worse...we found dirty diapers EVERYWHERE. I don't mean to scare you but it's like that show "How Clean is your House". When I got to the house there was just paths through the rooms...we I had to make things work...and once we sold the big pieces things went faster!

I'm Home!
Sorry if you came to see pictures...but I haven't found the port to my camera to upload pictures. But I'm here to blog what happened while I was gone, and hopefully tomorrow I'll find the port for my camera.
I left 4 weeks ago for Utah to help drive my sister-in-law (Evie) to Florida. It was my understanding that once I got there everything was done and ready--all I would have to do is a yard sale and help her drive a uhal back to Florida. WELL--That wasn't the case. She has had her little sister (Sandi) and her baby living off of her and not helping her out. So nothing was done. Since--their mom died in October...Evie has had problems in Wendover and Sandi has been stealing her blind. Not only that her water heater gave out and dumped the whole 50 gallons of water in her house and she had to find someone that knew what they were doing to fix it. (Let me tell you that isn't easy in the middle of the desert.) So when I got there I had to deal with her major problems first and then deal with what didn't get done.
Her house was sold and the title company couldn't find her account to put her money in. So that had problems all in it's own (as you can guess). So I finally called the title company and told them that I had called my attorney and he wanted to know what was taking so long in getting her money to her. Once we worked that problem out we had the water heater to deal with. While as you have guessed we couldn't be in the house with no water...so we finally found a nice man that knew water heaters...and he had to drive almost 2 hours from Wendover into a real town to get a water heater that would fit into Evie's house. (I think she had a water heater for a double wide...so normal water heaters were too big.) It took the weekend for him to get back with us...and once he got it up and running we started cleaning small areas of the house (because Sandi still was using the house without running water...so the bathrooms...we just won't go there...and the kitchen was covered in dirty dishes). We spent that night in a hotel and the next morning we went back to the house and the water heater dumped the water again. So I had to get a hold of the man who was helping us...he finally came and tried to figure out why we were having problems. Come to find out the house never had a pressure regular on it so there was 150 pounds of pressure being pumped into her house and blowing the water heaters. He had plans to do other jobs in other towns for the next few days so we had to wait our turn...and he had to drive to a real town to get the part. He was very sweet and didn't over charge us for what he was doing. So since Evie's house had no water--there was no cooling system because out there they use swamp coolers that use water. So we could only be there for short periods of time.
So after a week and a half of only being in the house only during the day we started to noticed that there were water bugs...HUGE water bugs...and if you know me that isn't a good thing! So we sprayed and sprayed for bugs...every night and every morning.
I did forget to say she had problems with her car while I was there. I should say that in December while she was on her way here for Christmas--Sandi got hit in her car...after months in the shop it was "fixed". She didn't pay the body shop off because she wanted to drive it to see if it was okay...well the day I flew in the body shop wanted her to stop and see how things were going...so she did and the wanted to keep the car...the took her keys and won't give them back. Sandi had the extra keys so she took Evie's car back. So I had to deal with that too while I was there.
But the house had boxes from their mom, Sandi and Evie...and even some of Don's stuff. So we had to unpack and repack boxes. We worked most days until Midnight or 1 am and then would start back up around 8 or 9 am. Plus with trying to do a yard sale to get things out while we were getting ready to leave was a challenge. Some people would come every day just to see what new things we dug up...and then we had those that just wanted to dig through boxes just to do it. I have to say that we did a great job for dealing with what we had to deal with. But I was not happy to know what it wasn't already to go when I got there. Evie and I did all the work...and Sandi was just crappy if we sold things that she didn't have time to go through or didn't get to see. But after 2 days of her empty promises and seeing that she was just walking off with stuff--I didn't much care if she saw anything that we sold or not. I did take things that I knew we could sell later for a better price then what we would have gotten in Wendover...like a box of Coke collectibles.
We tried to give things to church groups because there was a ton of women's cloths and kitchen things that didn't sell...but no church group wanted to return calls. So we left alot of stuff for Sandi to deal with...she wanted to be able to go through stuff so we talked with the people that bought the home and worked out a deal that she could have a few days to get a storage unit and move the stuff after we left.
We left Saturday after we got the truck packed. My friend James and his girlfriend Jessica drove in from Provo to help me out (that is about a 3-4 hour drive one way). And we got a few men from the church come out to help also. They got it packed in about 2 hours. Evie and I headed towards Provo (really Springville) to stay with some friends of Evie and Don's. Ken Condie was Don's young men's leader years ago...so they had LOTS of good stories to share with me. It was just so good to walk into their home and feel the warm spirit that was there. Because out in Wendover the only spirit I felt was not a good one. So the Condies' put us up for 3 night. Their girls were wonderful about being kicked out of their beds and asked to sleep elsewhere in the house. The girls were excited Sunday when was asked to stay another night and leave Tuesday. I'm so glad to know that there are good members of the church that we could turn to and have the feeling of being safe and part of their family.
Tuesday we headed to Gallup, New Mexico. The wind blew so hard that I wasn't able to enjoy the travel. And Don sent us on a "short cut" which was a 2 lane road and TONS of road construction...so we had to stop going uphill just about everything we got stopped. Don says it saved us 160 miles...but I don't think it saved anytime. Wednesday we were off to Oklahoma City, OK. Again the wind blew so hard that the ride was no fun. We had to stay under the speed limit...which made our days long because I wanted to make it home in the 4 days that I had planned. Thursday we headed to Birmingham, AL. The wind was better for the most part but we still got had to be careful because the wind would start up and knock us around. Once we got into Alabama we had to stop and get gas and there was only a small gas station to go to. (Since we were paying in cash for gas Evie always went in to prepay and I'd gas the truck up.) I was standing there waiting on the pump to beep so I could start pumping gas...and all the sudden I heard "Honey are you traveling alone?". I turn around and a nice, black, older man was standing there talking to me...so I answered him "no, sir, I'm traveling with my sister". He looked at me and asked "who let's 2 women drive such a large truck cross country?" Of course I am not shy I answered him again " my husband. He couldn't get time off to help his sister move so he sent me instead...and we are almost there. We will be in Florida tomorrow and the trip will be over". He just looked at me like I was nuts and says " honey-don't talk to strangers. When you are in your truck...lock your doors. You and your sister stick together---don't leave each other. And don't talk to strangers." I just replied "yes, sir". Now I'm about to laugh...because he made me talk to him, but thinks I shouldn't talk to strangers. What is wrong with people? Really it was nice to think he was really giving me advice that he thinks I have never heard of before. But I'm glad he was worried about us. Friday we were on the final leg to Florida. Wind didn't act up and I was making good time...that is until we hit I-75 South. Just north of Gainsville there was a semi-truck turned over on it's side and it took us 45 minutes to go 10 miles. So that was a major set back in our time table. I was just so wanting to get out of that truck and have the trip over with. Once we got back on the road...we made good time again until it started to rain. People in the south don't know that it's okay to drive on water. So we had a few times that traffic crawled...and then we would get back up to speed...until Tampa...there was a HUGE storm crossing the Tampa Bay. So we crawled across the bridge but I knew that we just had about 20 minutes and we could be home. So I kept moving...I really just wanted to drive over cars that would stop in my path. But we finally made it home late afternoon/early evening.
Saturday we got the boy scouts from the church come and help unload the truck into a storage unit. Once we were done there---they followed us back to our apartment and helped Don bring up the large dressers and bed into the house. It's good to know the leaders...and being on the good end of service. (Most of the boys are in my Sunday school class---so they said they were earning the treats I always bring. So I baked brownies last night for them to eat in class today.)
So we are home and getting Evie unpacked. I'm sure things were put into storage that needed to come here but we will work that out later...right now it's getting her clothes and important things away right now.
Well--That's my update for right now...I hope I didn't bore you. I hope to get my camera working soon so that I can add pictures soon! Stop by again soon and check for pictures!

Well--That's my update for right now...I hope I didn't bore you. I hope to get my camera working soon so that I can add pictures soon! Stop by again soon and check for pictures!

Just a thought I had...
This is just a thought I had to get out of my head! But I want to re-read it later so I can make since of it...so you don't have to read further if you don't want.
At times do you feel helpless? I mean really helpless...you are given alot to deal with in life daily...and then you are just fed more. You want to help others, but you don't feel equipped to even help yourself? Do you feel like you run in a huge circle but you can't find yourself to stop? Will there ever be a time when you feel like you have tons of time on your hands and you aren't just wasting it? Is there a time that you will feel like you got everything done and you can just take a deep breath?
At times lately I feel like I have been dropped in a HUGE maze and left to run it. But there is no end just lots of corners to turn...and hoops to jump through. Nothing I do can get me to the end or jump through enough hoops to figure out where the end is. I feel sometimes someone is watching me just laughing at what I can and can't handle. I feel like I'm a puppet in some sick and twisted play.
Why do we think of silly phrases like "the darkest before the storm" or "every cloud has a silver lining"? Sometimes the storm comes and the sun is shining...and there is no warning....or when you are having a "storm" are you looking for the "silver lining"? What the heck? IS there silver lining for every dark cloud? Or are we just making ourselves crazy looking for that silly lining?
Sorry if you read this entry...just thoughts that ran through my head the last couple days and just needed an out. I'm off to Utah on Wednesday and will be back sometime in June (hopefully by the 10th of June). I'll update when I get back!

Very Busy Week Ahead...
One week from yesterday---I'll be heading to Utah. I feel so unready to make this trip. But I'm totally excited to make the trip! I'm excited to be able to spend time with Don's sister (Evie), and get to know her much better. I'll be gone about 4 to 5 weeks...we are hoping (hoping it won't be longer then that). I'm taking my camera with me so I can hopefully get some great pictures while I'm out and about. Evie and I are driving from Utah to Florida in a U-hal...that scares me...she hasn't driven anything that big and I don't like driving down mountains! It should be fun...since Don was a truck driver...he has be able to help me decide the best way to drive back so I don't have major down grades to drive. I'll be able to see some areas that I haven't been to before which is exciting to me. One of those places is Gallup, New Mexico. (If Don wouldn't have let his FL Funeral Directors license lapse we could be living there.)
I forgot to say---Don passed his State Board test! He has made his boss really nervous not studying like a normal person. Don can read fast and retains a lot so he doesn't have to study (which makes me mad--I have to study twice as hard as a normal person).
I do have to share a story I read last night in the paper from where I grew up. It totally cracked me up so I thought I would share it with you! It's only part of the article but it's the funniest part believe me!
Why a woman cried so hard when her station wagon was cut in two
Wednesday, May 02, 2007
Peru resident Jack Young said he'd seen several crashes in his 40 years with the C&O Railroad. Some, of course, were scarier than others.
Young remembers coming back from Chicago when he saw something on the track near North Judson. He blew the whistle, but it didn't move and by the time the train stopped a white Ford station wagon had been cut in two. Apparently, railroad employees had been working on that track and removed the ties so any vehicle crossing there would sink down and not be able to get out of the hole created.A man and woman who had been in the car had gotten out safely.
As they were making out the accident report in the caboose, the man seemed okay but the woman was crying a lot. When they asked her why she was crying, she said, "What am I going to tell my husband? "The man who was with her was her boyfriend, not her husband.
Well that's all my news...sad isn't it?! I'm hoping when I get back from Utah I'll have lots of great stuff to tell you! Enjoy your weekend...and if I don't post before I leave have a great Mother's Day too!

Busy times...
I went out on the web and looked up blogs of people I knew and I'm like "dang--no one has update but Christina". Then I was sitting here thinking "when was the last time I updated?". The answer "TOO long"! So here we are--an update!
After all my guests left I was feeling down in the dumps. Since Don and I have 3 day passes to Disney World and he had a day off...he decided to take me to Epcot to have a day of people watching. That is about my favorite pass time! So we went and saw all the changes Epcot has made since we were last here (about 6 years ago). It was a beautiful day...Sunny but cool. We took some funny pictures of us with monkey bodies...and with funky lips...and just had a good day. I will enclose a slide show to show the day.
Right now I'm working against the clock to get ready for Evie's move. Since she has decided to move here I haven't done too much...but talk about getting things done. Well--she bought me a one way ticket to Utah to come help her finish packing and have a HUGE yard sale. And then help drive a Uhal from Utah to Florida. But there is one problem...we are NOT ready on this end. I leave here May 9th so that Evie doesn't have to spend Mother's Day by herself...it's the first since her mom passed away.
I have had to repack all the boxes that are sitting in her room--since we are still living out of boxes most of the time. So--I have started our hurricane kit and repack boxes. Don will take them to a storage unit the first part of June. So that her room is some what emptied out once we make the trip back. Don laughs at me...I work so well under pressure. I have spent 3 days getting ready and I think it's about half way done. Knowing that there is only 2 weeks for me to get everything done and myself packed makes me work harder and faster. I can get a lot of things done if I have to!
Don is scheduled to take his state board test on Thursday...He will even know if he passed and what he got that day. Much better then Indiana's tests! So he is studying for that test. His boss (Mary) and I both are worried about his test...he hasn't really been studying until lately. But then again he usually crams the night before and passes so I'm hoping with a weeks study he might get a really good grade...but really all he needs is a 75%. The funeral home is down to 2 embalmers so he works 5 to 6 days a week. But I think Mary might be redoing their schedules so that they don't have to work so much...not that we are minding the extra $$.
Well I'll let you know about his test when I know! But that's all the news I have right now. But when I go on this trip I'll take pictures so that I'll do posts when I get back! Have a great week and enjoy my pictures!

Last Day of Spring Break 2007
As our last day together--we decided to just hang out. Don played for hours in the pool with the kids. Kelly and I got to sit and chat...and Danny just took it easy! I'm so very glad that they got to come and visit, but time when by so fast. After spending the afternoon with them we had to say our good byes. The Zehrings left early Friday morning. I hate saying good byes...it makes me cry! I've been very sad today because I know I won't see them for a while and I'm back to square one. Don't get me wrong but I now feel all alone again. Don is a great sport and holds my hand and tries to make it all better. I'm happy that he like my friend and her family enough to spend so much time with them this week. It has been great just spending time with them...and great seeing things through the kids eyes. I hope they enjoyed their trip!
I have included ALOT of pictures from our last day--which is ALL pool/bay side. I hope you enjoy them! Have a wonderful weekend and a very HAPPY EASTER!

Springbreak 2007---Disney World/Magic Kingdom
Yesterday our day started out EARLY. We were on the road by 5:15AM. We headed out for Orlando to the happiest place on earth! The kids were so excited! We hit almost all the rides that everyone wanted to do. We had to skip some because of the hot day and long, long lines. But we hit the important ones (IE: The Tiki Room, Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Small World, Splash Mountain, Tea Cups).
But our funniest story comes from Kelly and Don at "It's a Small World". We had been in line (for awhile) and all the sudden there was a horrid smell. Kelly went off on whatever child just S***T themselves their parents need to change them. I was laughing so hard when I saw a HUGE smile on Don's face and had to point to Don for farting. It was so HORRID, and all I could do is laugh my butt off!
I think everyone had a good time, but by 6:30pm we all had are fill of the "Happiest Place on Earth". There were SOOOO many people. (Being Easter weekend and us not thinking anything about it.) And there were TONS of Hoosiers for Elkhart...their band played in the PRE-Disney Parade. I still can't believe how many RUDE people come to Disney (besides myself). Enjoy our pictures from Disney. Today Don and I are heading to the Hotel to spend time with the Zehrings for they will be leaving tomorrow! But I'll try to get some more pictures for you to enjoy.
